Just back from the obligatory Feb 14th romantic meal for two. We ended up in an Indonesian restaurant - everywhere was packed, given the night that was in it. The grub was pretty good, but we got shafted when we went to pay.
No harm - the real low point of the meal was when herself encouraged me to try a large bit of a chilli pepper. "It's not spicy at all, it's too big to be spicy", she said. "Just take the seeds out - that's what make it spicy", she said". To paraphrase Seve Ballosteros (as said to his caddie) - I don't blame her, I blame me for listening to her!!! The damn thing nearly burnt the mouth off me and there was next to no liquid left on the table. It reminded me a little of that scene from Dumb and Dumber when the 2 idiots hid the super hot chillis in the hitman's food!

The expected tightarse remark has arrived, albeit via email!
As a matter of fact, it was herself who did all the complaining, even though it was me who did all the paying!!
What happened was she got misleading info from the waitress beforehand and that annoyed her as it ended up costing (me) double what she/we thought. It was expensive enough by standards here, but not by Irish standards, so I wasn't too bothered.
