Footloose!

I know that I go on a bit about the poor old Bangladeshis, so this post should be no surprise!

It appears that some of them don't like to (or can't afford to) wear shoes on the job. I passed several in the past week working on small construction jobs in their bare feet. They're tough, God bless them, but surely that can't be wise (or legal!). The health & safety guys would go apoplectic at home if they found that! I don't think that they have steel toenails in Bangladesh either!

Speaking of nails, saw an old Muslim guy on the train yesterday with no finger nails at all! It was very odd and a bit unsettling. I hope he didn't lose them the "George Clooney" way (see Syriana)!
