The most awful thing has happened - the damn TV has gone on the blink!
Bad enough as it was, with effectively only 1 channel, at least it was something to do of an evening. It also gave me a chance to keep in, sob, touch with Western, sob, culture (albeit US!) and helped sustain my TV addiction. Of course, it had to go just before my favourite show came on - Sod's (or Murphy's!) Law strikes again!! I may have to go and get a life now - the horror of it all!!
Looks like the tube is gone. I did discover that a well delivered slap to the side of the box restored the picture for a short period. I had to stop that though, as I didn't want to be reported to the RSPCTV!!!!!

Err, thank you, Anonymous, for that insightful tip.
I'm sure you'd splash out on a TV to watch 1 crap channel for a few weeks before you return.
I am thinking of buying a USB TV tuner for my laptop, however; that would make more sense. I actually bought one a few weeks ago, but it was only for digital TV, so returned it. Must look for the analogue equivalent later on.
p.s. The TV is completely dead now and no amount of slapping revives it!!
Herself is trying to contact the landlady to get it sorted.
