..and call the welder - it's bloody freezing here! It's the end of March for God sake, not mid winter! Maybe I should have stayed out there another month or two!
I had a very pleasant 13 hour flight (as 13 hour flights go!) from Singapore to Frankfurt. It was by far the best long haul flight that I’ve ever had, despite certain things weighing heavily on my mind. I think that I even managed to sleep for about 5 or 6 hours, which is a first for me on an airplane. Also, I had an aisle seat and there was no one in the seat beside me, which made things a little more comfortable. My trusty PSP (PlayStation Portable) kept me occupied for most of the time I was awake, listening to mp3s and trying to beat Retief Goosen in Tiger Woods 2006!
On this flight, I got a seat two rows from the galley, so I thought, great, no big wait for grub. However, the trolley dollies went down the back of the cabin and worked their way back up. How come when I am sitting down the back, they start at the front and work their way down?! That’s Murphy's law in action again, I guess. I got a nice view of the sunrise over the Black Sea from 30,000 feet. Tried to take a picture of it, but the airplane window ruined it!
Singapore airport is fantastic as well. As well as the obligatory shopping, it has free internet PCs, laptop stations, rooms to lie down in, a gym, comfy sitting area with huge screen TV (with smaller plasma screens also) and numerous other nice touches for the bored and/or tired traveller. So kudos to the powers that be there.
